LORE

In a world where monsters and demons rage freely against the weak, few are those who have the courage and skill to protect mortals from a cruel fate.
The fearless members of the Demon Hunters, a division of the legendary Requiem Brotherhood, are among the few who can stand up to the forces of chaos and corruption, proving that even the most terrifying of demons can tremble with fear.

Requiem Demon Hunters (Modular Unit)
Tireless vigilantes dedicated to the eradication of corruption and chaos across the kingdoms of Mundus, the Demon Hunters are men and women from the troubled past highly specialized in killing demons, vampires and other aberrations.
The few survivors who endure the endless training in the icy halls of Dosmagal, fortress of the Requiem Brotherhood, are revealed to be grim individuals with unwavering spirits, masters in the use of the weapons favoured by the special division, including blades, axes, crossbows, and even black powder weapons.
Recognizable by their signature buckled tunic and hats, some of the Demon Hunters are said to hide a terrible power born of an ancient curse.

Requiem Wulfheart (special Modular Unit)
Very few are the monstrosities of chaos and corruption that don't tremble with fear even just hearing the dull howls that echo in the night when the Wulfheart hunt for demons.
Even the bravest of the members of the Requiem Brotherhood have realized that to cope with the merciless demonic hordes, sometimes the strength and steel of a mortal are not enough.
For this reason, the most prodigious and ruthless Demon Hunters are offered the opportunity to undergo the Pact of the Wolf.
During this grisly ritual, the Demon Hunter is chained and Captain Fenrir gives him the Blood of the Wolf, which violently transforms him into a werewolf.
Most of those who undergo the ritual do not resist wolf blood and turn into dangerous senseless beasts: for this reason, a Requiem Templars armed with a broadsword is placed next to the unfortunate ready to behead him in case of emergency.
The few who manage to master the transformation into Wulfheart keep it as a precious secret and use it only in case of extreme necessity.

Captain Fenrir - The Silver Hunter & Wulfheart Form
(Modular Shapeshifter Hero)
“Some beings shine with such a low light that they feel the urge to turn ours off. Our job is to slay these defilers, we are the last hope of the men and women of Mundus!”
- Captain Fenrir.
Wrapped in a worn grey cloak, the mysterious and feral Captain of the Demon Hunter is among the men most feared by the demonic legions, a legend among the people of Rotvar.
This taciturn and athletic man, apparently in his fifties, actually hides a turbulent past: few know the story that got him his name, Fenrir, of which the border between reality and myth is confused.
More than two centuries ago, a nameless child is handed over to the Requiem Brotherhood by a peasant family to pay off a debt, a common practice in that age.
No one could have imagined that this inexperienced boy would pass the most severe tests of the freezing fortress of Dosmagal, transforming himself into a cold and tenacious bounty hunter.
Years later, when part of this ruthless warrior's hair was already grey and he was recognized as the Silver Hunter, he was given an important bounty: a dangerous wolf-like demon was ferociously devouring the miners near Svartwood.
After countless night battling against the giant wolf, the bounty hunter lost his left arm on a bloody duel in the freezing pine forests, and after putting his rival to flight, he came back injured to the miners' village to rest.
But the giant wolf attacked once again, breaking through the high walls of the village. Cornered, the miners revealed their true form: devious Shapeshifting Demons in disguise, engaged in the extraction of Arcane energy from the generous heart of Skutagaard mountains.
"Kill Fenrir!", the demons cursed and scream in a night of fire and blood.
The majestic lupine-shaped beast, the Requiem warrior understood, was nothing more than a Vengeful Spirit protector of the woods, a lesser god dedicated to the protection of Mundus.
Immediately, the bounty hunter sided with the Wolf and fought against the extraplanar monstrosities, until a deafening roar interrupted the battle: a shot from the demonic weapons went through the heart of the giant Fenrir Wolf.
"Too late, walker, too late you take sides against the flaming invaders of chaos! You will accept my gift: you will now be FENRIR, I will avenge myself through your arms and your steel!".
In a savage rage, the hunter now known as the legendary Fenrir took the shape of a regenerating wolf, grow his arm once again and tore the remaining Shapeshifting Demons into bits.

Fenrir - The Old Wolf
(Epic Boss Legendary Beast)
The ancient being of the lineage of Lords, Beast of the North with a silver cloak and sharp claws, was called Fenrir. The millennial White Wolf was worshiped as a god in the freezing northern lands, even before they took the name of Skutagaard from the evil lich lord.
Gigantic and majestic ancestral Wolf, incarnation of hunting and solitude, Fenrir abandoned his sleep to stand up against the extraplanar forces, which destroy and burn the trees, dig deep tunnels of the depths of Mundus to extract the lifeblood of the earth, the precious Arcane energy.
The bard's tales say that even the Daemon Lords and the Lich Lord tremble at the ferocious grin of the wolf king, who has torn into pieces thousands of demons, keeping the Legions of the Gorge out of the pristine snowy lands. They sing that the Vengeful Spirit of the ancient Wolf God can sometimes be glimpsed on silent full moon nights.
Only the mysterious scribes of the Requiem order know the reality, and jealously guard its secret: the spirit of the Wolf rests in the firm heart of the lonely captain of the Demon Hunter, the one who bears the same name as the Beast of the North, the Hunter of Fenrir silver.
